The porcelain pin insulator is commonly used on power distribution systems and their lightening impulse strengths have also been studied for many years. The CFO voltages of 15 kV, 25 kV, and 35 kV porcelain pin insulators were evaluated. The tests were conducted under dry and wet conditions and positive and negative lightening impulses. The evaluated pole lengths were to be from 0.3m to 2.4 m.

Suspension insulator CFO and pin insulator CFO are normal phenomenon.
